The reason is to continue collaborating and being part of initiatives that aim to help in the search and awareness of these diseases.

The action was to collect the full amount of our Chivite | Las Fincas bottles and allocate it to the search for the fight against Breast Cancer.

It has been an honor to be part of this initiative and we mark it as the beginning of a long journey collaborating in the investigation of this disease. To support all those brave and strong women who fight daily against Breast Cancer.

Our Yakisoba collaborates with the Environment! - Zero Plastic Waste Challenge

Next year, the production of plastics will approach 500 million tons, and most will be used for the manufacture of single-use containers *

Recycling our waste seems the best option to reduce our environmental impact, but it is not enough, since in Spain only 30% of plastics are recycled *.

The key is to reduce the generation of these and, therefore, in #Nomomoto we begin to replace the take away plastic containers, with cardboard containers. How could we improve one of the classics of Japanese cuisine: the wok yakisoba noodles? ¡Packaging it in completely biodegradable cardboard containers and recyclable materials. ⠀

With the replacement of the new packaging, this year the sale of 12,000 units of yakisoba has resulted in a saving of 124kg of plastic. That added to those of the Edamame tray, they are almost 300kg! There have been many products that have undergone the change, thus adding to the total of plastic KG reduced at the end of the year.

Goodbye Edamame in plastic container! - Zero Plastic Waste Challenge

In #Nomomoto we continue with the Challenge But Plastic to minimize our impact on the environment, reducing the use of plastic.

Our first action has been to change our take away containers from #Nomomoto, which meant a total annual consumption of 2000kg of plastic. In this new entry, we bring you the figures of one of your favorite entrees: EL EDAMAME.

Last year, more than 15,000 were sold between our two varieties of Edamame in #Nomomoto: Edamame (the classic) and Edamame to the truffle. This figure translates into 160 kg of plastic saved with the passage of the plastic tray at cardboard. Every little gesture counts, and together we can leave a better world for those to come.

Leave us in comments what changes you make in your day to day to reduce the consumption of plastic, together we can help each other!

We are ready! Nomo Challenge, Zero Plastic

Zero Plastic Challenge

The Plastic Zero Challenge, as the name suggests, consists of leaving the plastic completely on its side in our restaurants and using only biodegradable and friendly materials of the environment. We know that it is an ambitious project, but all our team is prepared and motivated to achieve it.

How are we going to do it?

Nomomoto which is our restaurant of take away and delivery is the first one to use a completely biodegradable packaging and recyclable materials, replacing traditional plastic sushi trays with cardboard ones that are even more resistant and comfortable to use, and of course, respectful of our surroundings.

These eco-friendly resources are going to be adapted for each of our Japanese restaurants and our Mediterranean restaurant Jani in Llafranc, so that at the end of this year we can proudly show off all the effort and teamwork we have done for a common good as is the protection of our environment.

How are you going to evaluate the challenge?

The Zero Plastic project is planned to be carried out throughout this year 2019. Grupo Nomo will be showing during all this time the progression of the challenge and the achievements that we are making during this process, and we will also measure all the advantages and the impact of these changes. We are going to do this with the Nomo Thermo.

The Nomo Thermo is a thermometer where we will be measuring all our progress until we can fulfil our purpose. It will also allow us to see how much we have left to complete the project to be even more motivated to achieve it.

We are ready!

In Grupo Nomo, besides having restaurants that offer Japanese gastronomic experiences with a western touch, we want to go a step further and be truly faithful to our values as an organization.

Therefore, we won’t stop working as a team this year to take this project forward and consider our corporate responsibility: For a better future!
